MAKE LUNCH

St Werburgh’s Church is part of the Chorlton community, an area that often appears well provided for, yet many local families are still facing financial hardship.
Child poverty continues to affect children across Manchester, including those close to us. This is something we feel compelled to respond to, which is why we run Make Lunch.

Make Lunch is delivered in partnership with Transforming Lives for Good TLG, a Christian charity that supports churches in caring for children and families facing tough circumstances. One of the key challenges is holiday hunger, when children who depend on free school meals during term time miss out on regular, healthy food during the school holidays.

With over 1.5 million children across the UK eligible for Free School Meals, the need is significant. Through Make Lunch, we offer a simple, welcoming space with food, care and connection for families in our local area.
