Prayer & Bible Reading

Prayer and bible reading plays a huge role in all that we do at St Werburgh’s. Here are a few of our favourite resources that we find super helpful to grow in this area.

Lectio 365 is a daily devotional resource that helps you pray through the Bible every day. Written by leaders from the 24-7 Prayer movement, this resource helps you engage with the word, fix your eyes on Jesus, and connect with God in prayer.

Bible in One Year is a daily Bible reading plan taking you through the entirety of the Bible in 365 days. Each daily reading includes passages from the New Testament, the Old Testament and Psalms or Proverbs. Alongside the readings, Nicky and Pippa Gumbel, former pastors of Holy Trinity Brompton church in London and pioneers of Alpha, share their thoughts on the passages and prayers for the day.

The Bible  Project is an organisation that produces  free Bible videospodcastsblogsclasses, and educational Bible resources to help make the biblical story accessible to everyone everywhere. This is a really good place if you want to go a bit deeper into the background and story of each book of the bible.

Family & Kid's

Church doesn’t have to just be on Sundays. So we’ve brought together some of our favourite kids prayer and worship tools for you to use at home.

The Book Shelf

Here’s are a few of the books we’ve been reading recently:
