Description

This is a ministry role within the St Werburgh’s staff team, contributing to and implementing a strategic vision for Youth within our community.

This role works alongside our Children and Families Lead, shaping a shared strategy to disciple children and young people to walk confidently with Jesus.

Title: Youth Lead

Reports to: Vicar

Hours/Days: Full-Time Sunday-Thursday

Salary: £26k-£29k

DBS: An enhanced DBS is required

Who We Are...

St Werburgh’s is a vibrant, diverse and growing church in Chorlton, a popular suburb just three miles from Manchester city centre, full of families and young professionals. Our vision is to play our part in seeing people, communities, and churches come alive in Jesus’ name - across Chorlton, Manchester, and beyond.

In a family-rich area, we’re passionate about making it as easy as possible for young people to encounter Jesus, connect deeply with Him, and find a village where they’re loved, discipled, and equipped to live boldly for Him.

Over the past five years, we’ve been on a journey of revitalisation, stepping into our calling as a ‘resource church’ - to plant and revitalise others. We're now preparing to send our first church plant and are seeking new ways to serve the wider church.

The Role

Young people are at the core of the vision of St Werburgh’s. We long to see them come to know Jesus and grow in faith now and into adulthood. We want to equip them to be followers of Jesus in the world.

This is a pioneering role contributing to and implementing a strategic vision for Youth within our community. It includes oversight of our 8-11s group, supporting transition into 11+, and building connections with local schools and community partners.

This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with a thriving children and families ministry, help pioneer pathways for 8-11s to continue their journey of faith as they become ‘youth’ and reach and disciple new 11-18s in our community.
